Lessons Learned on the Mountain

Image
Skiing with our kids is something that we have made a priority in our family we try to go once a week. It is a something that is not always easy, skiing with a 5 year old and 2 year old is a lot of work and not always fun. I am usually a sweaty mess with a sore back and legs by the end! It is still so worth it to go and keep going, our children sincerely love to ski and watching them find that freedom of flying down the mountain is pure joy. Although they love to ski this does not mean that every moment on the mountain is pure happiness. This picture will always make me laugh because moments before we were "that" family on the mountain you know the ones with crying kids and flustered parents. I don't know why but it suddenly became very funny to me and I wanted a picture of my crew. Im sure that Mark thought I was crazy but like the good sport that he is he smiled for my picture. After this we skied to a little lodge with chairs and took our skies off

Ski Date

Dax and I had the chance to go skiing just the two of us last week. It was so much fun and nice to be able to give him some one on one attention. He did everything himself from snapping into his skis, to getting off the lift, to getting up on his own when he fell! He is very proud of this and has told anyone that will listen. Dax’s skill level is increasing so fast he can ski any green and most blues on his own. He asks me regularly when he can do a black diamond. One on one ski dates are very worth making the time for I’m so glad we got out and hope to make time to do it again soon!  Thanks for reading.
